Они мне нравятся, но у меня нет места под новых лошадей. Но зарекайся не зарекайся, а тут бесплатно давали, поэтому кошелёк молчал, сфинктер не сжимал — не при делах он. Зато спортивный интерес шептал: «Ну давай попробуем… Помнишь какая она была паршивая когда-то у мамы? От белокрылки было не отбиться, так и сгинула… А если попробовать с холодной зимовкой, да летом на дачу?» Я, конечно, прельстилась. </p><p>Укоренёныша мне дали в декабре — я просила какой поменьше. Постоял, потом я его уронила вместе с горшком, потом руки не доходили, потом корни отвалились. Перевоткнула в стакан поменьше (100 мл — это который высотой 6 см), сунула под лампы в холодке. В конце января смотрю — ага, корни. Вроде можно бы и пересадить… но только зачем? Место у меня лишнее что ли? Пусть посидит в маленьком, пока сидится. А в конце февраля смотрю — хе, бутоны… </p><p>Расцвела краса моя как кактус — цветуищщи больше ботвы. Прелесть :)</p><p>Как обычно, поприставала к подробностям, гуглила про тычинки. Оказалось, во-первых, что пеларгонии отличаются от гераней (которыми их часто в обиходе называют) асимметричностью цветка и 7 тычинками (у гераней — 10). А во-вторых, как и у многих растений, сначала цветок вываливает пыльцу, и лишь потом, через 2-3 дня, раскрывается пестик. </p><p>На фото справа вверху цветок только-только раскрылся, поэтому рыльца пестика сложены в дульку — «своей пыльце не дамся». Ибо нечего ценные ресурсы на самоопыление переводить. Справа внизу — тот же цветок через несколько дней: пыльники отвалились, зато пестик готов принять генетический материал. I like them, but I have no space for new “horse-size” plants. But never say never, a friend offered me a cutting for free; thus the purse was silent. At the same time, the prowess whispered “Let's try… Do you remember how sick it was long ago when your Mom tried it? There was no way to get rid of whiteflies, and it vanished… What if we try with cool winter and hot summer in the garden?” I could not stand it. </p><p>I got the cutting in December — I asked for the smallest. After some time I dropped it on the floor, then I had no time to fix the situation, then roots went off. I stuck the plant into a small plastic cup (100 ml / 6 cm height) and put it under lamps in a cool place. By the end of January, I saw the roots. I thought that I could re-pot it… but why? I don't have excessive space. Let it sit in 100 ml while it can. In the ned of February — ha, I saw flower buds!</p><p>It blooms like a cactus — flowers are bigger than the green part. Lovely :)</p><p>As usual, I googled into details. I found that (1) pelargoniums differ from geraniums (that's how they are sometimes wrongly called) in flower symmetry (pelargoniums are asymmetrical) and stamens numbers (pelargoniums have 7, geraniums have 10); (2) as many other flowers do, pelargoniums prevent their flowers from self-pollination. </p><p>Top right photo: the flower has just opened, and pistil's stigmata stay closed: “no way for my pollen” — the plant does not want to spend resources on self-pollination. Bottom right photo: several days later, the stamens fell, and the stigmata are ready to accept genetic material.
