The fruit of the fig-leaved gourd are beautiful, one of those which I want to turn into a “desktop skin” but making a photo for this is not easy, I never succeeded (in fact this shot is not completely what I wished, too, but let it be a whole pumpkin).

The flesh of the fruit is tasty and used for making confectionary, but in our family cooking with pumpkins has not become a habit. While we were thinking how we shall cook it, the fruit, after 2 months' storage, turned into big decorative things with thin bitter flesh inside and “stony” hard skin outside. Then we tried to save it for decorative use, but it was a fail again: though the skin was difficult to cut with a knife, after frying up it shrunk, though we took out the flesh. Then we threw it away and never planted again, now it wonders in the garden by use of natural seeding.
