То ли начало сезона, когда в теплице несколько ночей было +2,5°C (с обогревом), напомнило им прохладную зиму северной Бразилии — родины предков; то ли от последовавшей затем жары (в теплице +35°C) «шифер потёк»… Обсыпались бутонами оба, причём гораздо обильнее, чем зимой. </p><p>Над широко распространённой рекомендацией, что для цветения им нужен 12-часовой/укорачивающийся световой день, кактусы, как видно, поржали: питерские белые ночи их вполне устраивают. I was wandering if it was due to cold spring (+2,5° in hothouse for several nights) which made them remember cool winters of northern Brazil, motherland of their ancestors; or maybe crazy hotness we had after that (+35°C in hothouse it was) drove them mad… Both gave much more buds than they usually have in winter.</p><p>I thought (as I read it in some recommendations) that they need 12-hour/shortening light day to bloom but now I see that they don't care about that much — St. Pete's “white nights” are ok.
